Pixelplus unveils new image recognition 'system-on-a-chip'

Pixelplus Co., Ltd. (www.pixelplus.com) has introduced the PM1001, a 32-bit RISC microprocessor-based image recognition system on a chip for mobile and non-mobile security applications involving iris, facial, and fingerprint recognition as well as human artery, vein and blood vessel recognition.

Pixelplus Co. Ltd. has introduced the PM1001, a 32-bit RISC microprocessor-based image-recognition system on a chip for mobile and non-mobile security applications involving iris, facial and fingerprint recognition as well as human artery, vein and blood vessel recognition.

The SoC is fabricated on an 0.18 µm CMOS process, and engineering samples are currently available. Production is planned for the second half of this year.
