Power-supply margining and comprehensive, non-volatile error logging are features of the UCD90120 sequencer and system health monitor. The device lets designers diagnose power-supply failures in their systems. The UCD90120 helps reduce board space by integrating 12 rails of sequencing; monitoring capability for up to 13 channels of voltage, current, or temperature; and 10 channels of power-supply margining. It is designed for any system requiring sequencing and monitoring of multiple power rails including industrial, telecom infrastructure, servers and storage systems. The company’s easy-to-use Fusion Digital Power Designer graphical user interface (GUI) allows users to configure the UCD90120 via a PMBus/I2C interface. The free, downloadable tool simplifies the development process and improves time-to-market by allowing the designer to configure all device parameters in minutes. The UCD90120 is available now in a 64-pin VQFN package and costs $4.95 each in quantities of 1000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
