A new test plug has been designed for use with standard PLCC sockets. The 44-301695-XX 44-pin plug can have either a cable soldered directly to the plug, or a socket or header on the topside of the new plug, giving the user three choices of connections for maximum flexibility. Able to withstand multiple insertions and extractions, the test plug can be used to debug and test circuit board prototypes as well as interface additional circuitry to an existing design. The plug’s body is constructed of a 0.62" thick, glass filled FR-4 material with 1 oz. of copper traces and is UL94V-0 rated. Male pins are brass alloy 360 with 200 µ" tin over 100 µ" nickel per QQ-N-290. Socket version pins are phosphor bronze alloy per QQ-B-750. The new test plug is part of the company’s Correct-A-Chip intelligent connectors that can modify existing designs without changing existing PCB layouts. The 44-301695-XX test plug comes in custom materials, platings, sizes and configurations to suit specific customer requirements. Pricing is $45 each/5. ARIES ELECTRONICS INC., Frenchtown, NJ.
