The 4C61A 5x86-based PC/104 CPU card has built-in SVGA/TFT LCD video that shares system memory (UMA) for minimum parts count and high performance. The built-in video supports resolutions up to 1024 by 768 by 24 bits and video memory sizes from 512k to 4096k. Users can disable the video as well. Also, this card can use a serial console for embedded applications. System memory can be 32 or 64 Mbytes, depending on the model. The 4C61A features a built-in 8- to 128-Mbyte flash drive that's IDE-compatible, so no special drivers are needed regardless of the operating system. An external IDE interface is provided too. Standard I/O includes a 10/100BaseT Ethernet port, two 16C550-compatible RS-232 serial ports, a parallel port, two USB ports, and a standard PS/2 keyboard and mouse port. One of the serial ports can be configured for an RS-485-type interface. A watchdog timer and EEPROM BIOS setup storage suit the 4C61A well for embedded applications. With 64 Mbytes of RAM, the 4C61A costs $289 in lots of 100.
