Board Connectors Withstand 100,000 Mating Cycles

Sept. 1, 1999

To suit the mechanical and electrical requirements of pluggable memories, disc drives, burn-in cards and other high mating cycle devices, the KA Series of low-insertion-force connectors is available with from 17 to 490 positions and with PCB, crimp, solder cup or wire-wrap terminals. The connectors are said to be tough enough to withstand 100,000 mating cycles. Contacts are rated at 3A per mated line with less than 4 milliohm contact resistance. Models can have 2, 3, 4 or 5 rows with 0.100" row spacing. Retainer clip contact mounting allows contact repair and mixing of termination styles in the same insulator housing. Some models meet the D55302 military specification.
