cPCI Board Includes Dual Fast Ethernet Ports

May 1, 2000

Offered as a cost effective means for systems designers to increase Ethernet capabilities in CompactPCI systems, the CP-3101 3U-sized cPCI board provides two independent Fast Ethernet controller ports. Based on the INtel 82559ER Fast Ethernet PCI controller, back-to-back transmissions are achieved via two transmit and receive FIFOs.
The board provides IEEE 802.3 auto-negotiation support and includes features such as Manchester encoding and decoding (10BaseTx), 4B/5B encoding and decoding(100BaseTx), and scrambling/descrambling (100BaseTx). LAN connectivity is via two front-panel mounted RJ45 connectors and both full- and half-duplex modes are supported.
Driver support for the CP-3101 is available for the VxWorks and Windows NT operating systems. The board is priced at $395.
