Developers looking for an Intel IXP425-based development platform should check out the DataViewIXP. This single-board computer has a 533-MHz Intel IXP425 Xscale processor and handles up to 64 Mbytes of flash. Peripherals include a PCI-to-CardBus bridge with dual slots, USB 2.0, dual Fast Ethernet, and digital I/O. The display output is provided by Silicon Motions' SM501 with VGA and low-voltage differential-signaling outputs. Also, the platform has a four- or five-wire resistive touchscreen interface, a video encoder interface, and stereo audio output. Pricing starts around $400.
