The D21 series high-density stackable small-form-factor (SFF) optical transceivers target Gigabit Ethernet or Fibre Channel applications. They suit next-generation metropolitan-area-networking (MAN), storage-area-networking (SAN), and local-area-networking (LAN) equipment applications that require maximum board density. These products use multidye hybrid technology to integrate a dual optical transceiver into a package measuring 2.0 by 10.0 by 0.75 in. They feature industry-standard LC interfaces and exhibit low levels of jitter from −40°C to 85°C. Units cost about $60 to $85 per port in large production quantities.
