To facilitate sourcing and configuration for system integrators and hospital IT department, Kontron will offer the KTQ67/Flex-MED motherboard—the company’s first standard Flex-ATX board to feature two EN60601-1-compliant isolated Ethernet ports—in volume production.

To facilitate sourcing and configuration for system integrators and hospital IT department, Kontron will offer the KTQ67/Flex-MED motherboard—the company’s first standard Flex-ATX board to feature two EN60601-1-compliant isolated Ethernet ports—in volume production. Thus, to deploy a medical PC, customers need only choose an appropriate standard housing to finalize individual system configurations. The board includes two digital video interfaces (DVIs) to drive medical imaging tasks on two high-definition monitors. Performance is scalable across all dual- and quad-core desktop CPUs from Intel’s third-generation core processors. Based on the Intel Q67 System Controller Hub, the Flex-MED board offers up to 32 Gbytes of DDR3 RAM. Interfaces includes two isolated Gigabit Ethernet, 12 USB 2.0, and six SATA (four SATA150/300 and two SATA600) with SW RAID support (RAID 0/1/5/10). Expansion card slots include PCI Express x16, x4, and 32-bit PCI (2x). A multi-purpose “feature connector” supports up to 160 GPIOs. Intel’s Active Management Technology 8.0 is supported for remote management and easier maintenance.
