Based on 0.1" x 0.2" centerlines and accepting 0.054" to 0.070" daughter cards, the latest generation of AMP PACE card edge connectors employ eye-of-the-needle contacts that allow solder-free press fitting into a printed circuit board. The component is flat-rock compatible, thereby eliminating the cost of special tooling. The connectors are available in dual-position sizes from 10 through 60 and have the same overall dimensions as current AMP PACE connectors. Contacts are rated for 3A with a 1 kVac withstanding voltage. The housing is molded from glass-filled polyester while the contacts are phosphor bronze with nickel under plating and a gold finish. Contact insertion force averages 7 lbs. per contact. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522-6752.
