EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, San Jose, CA. – Expanding the versatility of the RabbitCore family of modules, the RCM4400W is a Wi-Fi/802.11 based core module while the RCM4510W is a ZigBee/802.15.4 based module. The pin-compatible modules allow users to select from serial, wired Ethernet, wireless Ethernet/Wi-Fi or wireless ZigBee/802.15.4 as their communication link. The Wi-Fi / 802.11 RCM4400W is powered by the Rabbit 4000 microprocessor running at 58.98 MHz. Features include up to 35 GPIO lines shared with six serial ports, hardware DMA, quadrature decoders, PWM, and up to four levels of alternate pin functions. Operating temperature range is from -20°C to +85°C. The ZigBee/802.15.4 RCM4510W employs MaxStream technology with the integration of the XBee Series 2 ZigBee module. Also employing a Rabbit 4000 running at 29.49 MHz, features include up to 49 GPIO lines shared with six serial ports and four channels of analog inputs, hardware DMA, quadrature decoders, PWM, and up to four levels of alternate pin functions. Operating temperature range is from -40°C to +85°C. Development kits are available for the RCM4400W and RCM4510W. Each contains the appropriate wireless module, a development board, the latest Dynamic C integrated development software with samples and libraries, and all accessories. Prices for the RCM4400W and RCM4510W are $99 and $72 each/100, respectively, and development kits cost $199 each. RABBIT SEMICONDUCTOR INC., Davis, CA. (530) 757-8400.
