Oct. 1, 1998

These DIP-type 8-pole sockets with 2.54 mm spacing are suited to ISO-7816-compliant smart cards used, for example, in set-top boxes for satellite TV, security systems, retail point-of-sale systems, and digital TVs. The ID2M series sockets have the original smart card detection switch with a two-point contact for improved contact stability and card detection. The sockets offer anti-solder wicking construction, board positioning boss, large slot entrances for ease of card insertion, and spring-type housing structure designed to prevent cards from falling out.
