The DHS series of tiny surface-mount DIP switches targets applications in which a standard-size DIP switch won't fit, but equivalent performance is required. The DHS models are half the size of a standard DIP, with their terminal pitch reduced from 0.100 to 0.050 in. Contact ratings are 100 mA at 6 V dc (switching). The eight-position model measures only 0.468 by 0.244 in. It projects 0.087 in. from the pc board's surface. The four-position model measures only 0.268 in. long. The complete DHS line includes four-, six-, eight-, and 10-position models. They're auto-insertable, reflow-solderable, and process-compatible with their standard polyimide tape seal. For added reliability, they use a self-cleaning twin point contact design. The DHS switches are actuated using a pencil type tool. Yellow actuators against a black body enable easy selection of positions. Operating force is 400 g maximum. A positive detent meets the shock and vibration requirements of Mil-Std-202F. Typical pricing is $1.58 each in 1000-piece quantities.
