A family of tactile switches consists of four series that vary in size, options, and distinctive characteristics, offering designers a wide variety of solutions. The HP series of environmentally friendly through-hole and surface-mount devices feature a 6-mm-square body that allows for compact mounting for a keyboard matrix. The terminals and contacts are available in gold or silver, depending on the application requirements. Electrical and mechanical life is rated at 500,000 operations minimum. The CB series, also 6 mm square and available in through-hole or surface-mount models, are process sealed to prevent contact contamination during automated soldering and cleaning. The switches are rated for a minimum of 100,000 electrical and mechanical operations.

The JB series has a 10-mm-square body and is also process sealed. They come in a variety of actuator heights, cap styles, body shapes, and colors and are available with red, green, or yellow LEDs. Electrical and mechanical life is rated at 5,000,000 operations minimum. The JF series features a very low profile of 5 mm from the pc-board to the top of the switch. They come in a wide choice of body shapes and colors and are available with full-face or spot illumination with red, green, or yellow LEDs. All NKK tactile switches use dome contacts. They are SPST with momentary circuit and logic-level ratings. Prices start at $0.30 each in 1000-piece quantities. Availability is stock to eight weeks.
