Suited for use on its own or with CAD tools, Windows-based CITS 25 Version 2 software is designed to reduce the number of prototype iterations needed to optimize the dimensions of pc board tracks whose impedance must be tightly controlled--high-performance boards increasingly require controlled-impedance traces to support high bandwidth memories, such as RDRAMs.Representing an upgrade of the firm’s CITS 25 field-solving controlled impedance calculator, the new tool includes equations for 14 different new coplanar structures, including coated, embedded and offset. It also features automatic prediction of propagation delay in ps/in. or ps/mm for optimization of total track length. The easy-to-use tool automatically calculates impedance and propagation delays.
