Three Altera Cyclone III FPGA-based video image and compression boards are available with excellent cost/performance ratios and resources for specialized image processing. The VID375 image-processing platform provides two high-speed video streams for real-time JPEG2000 compression. The board, which features a dual JPEG2000 hardware compression engine based on Analog Devices’ dual ADV212 codecs, is suited for on-the-fly compression prior or after the imaging processing. For its part, the VID372 board supports two BASE camera-link interfaces. It is suitable for on-the-fly imaging and video processing and supports two cameras simultaneously, which is essential for 3D vision applications with high frame rate and resolution. Finally, the VID371 offers a robust communication link for video and imaging systems. The VID371 is a highly flexible camera-link processing board, offering high performance for machine vision and metrology systems. 4DSP INC., Reno, NV. (775) 233-5784.
