The Mopria Alliance, an industry alliance tasked with developing wireless printing standards for mobile devices, recently welcomed CSR as its latest member. Mopria members include Canon, HP, Samsung, and Xerox, but CSR is the first to offer SoCs, connectivity, and software that supports all major print formats.

The alliance brings together technology companies to pursue simple wireless-printing methods from smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices.

“The challenge for printer manufacturers is twofold—to enable convenient printing from mobile devices as a direct substitute for printing from a PC and, in the longer term, to open up new use cases such as initiating print jobs from wearable devices,” says Neil Epstein, senior director of Product Marketing, Document Imaging at CSR.
