Implementing a common embedded-control architecture across an entire product line, the common hardware and software implementation of the SSC050 Backplane Controller and the SSC100 and SSC200 Embedded Controllers are said to greatly reduce the cost, complexity and time required to implement enclosure management. This product family is developed with system-on-a-chip company LSI Corp., using its proven CoreWare design program. The enclosure management solutions employ the firm's Merlin Fibre Channel protocol engine, GigaBlaze serial transceiver and other cores.
