Device Protects USB Controllers

May 25, 2010
PolyZen ZEN059V130A24LS device meets Suspend Mode power-consumption requirements for USB 3.0.

Providing over-voltage, over-current, and ESD protection on USB controllers, the PolyZen ZEN059V130A24LS device meets Suspend Mode power-consumption requirements for USB 3.0. The device consists of polymer-enhanced Zener diodes in a single package. It combines high power-absorption capabilities with low Zener voltage and low power-consumption. Due to the device’s polymer thermal-protection architecture, it is able to absorb high-energy pulses and effectively block over-voltage and reverse-bias sources that could ultimately damage a stand-alone Zener diode. Pricing is $0.66 each/3,000. TYCO ELECTRONICS LTD., Menlo Park, CA. (800) 227-7040.
