Expanding the ALTOCAD SN series of form-in-place EMI gaskets are two new single-component silicone-based compounds: the SNK 45 (silver/copper) and the SNG 55 (silver/glass). Filled with proprietary conductive particles, these new gaskets provide a shielding effectiveness of greater than 100 dB at 1 GHz. because no mixing is required and they cure at normal room temperatures, advantages of these compounds is said to be shorter production times . They adhere to a variety of materials including aluminum and other cast alloys, stainless steel, nickel-copper plating over plastic, and copper-, silver-, and nickel-filled paint on plastic.
