The FTR-K1 low-profile, high-power relay consumes 42% to 52% less power than the company's previous-generation VSB relay. Measuring only 29 by 12.7 by 15.7 mm, the part targets home appliances, audio-visual equipment, office automation, and industrial HVAC applications. It's available with 250-mW (250 V ac, 10 A) and 400-mW (250 V ac/24 V dc, 16 A) power coils. The relay is rated for high ambient temperatures from −40°C to 105°C. Mechanical life lasts more than 20 million operations. Also, the device has a 10-kV surge withstand. Dielectric strength measures 5000 V ac between coil and contacts and 1000 V ac between contacts. The FTR-K1 costs $1.50 each in 10,000-unit quantities.
