Low-Profile SMT Inductors Span Wide Range Of Values

March 21, 2007
The HM62 Series inductors from TT electronics, BI Technologies' Magnetic Components Div., come in four package types with heights of only 1.0 to 1.5 mm.

Spanning a range of size and inductance values, the HM62 Series inductors come in four low profile package types (see the Figure) and exhibit high self-resonant frequencies up to Q value. That combination makes them well-suited for space-constrained applications like handheld, portable devices including iPods, MP3 players, cell phones, cameras, and PDAs. All versions feature an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. They come in both shielded and non-shielded packages surface-mount. The family includes:

  • HM62-2610 — 1.0 mm high; 1.0 to 22.0 µH at 100 kHz, 0.1 V rms, 0 A; absolute tolerance to ±20% and ±30% (depending on inductance value).
  • HM62-3014 — 1.4 mm high; 1.0 to 100.0 µH at 100 kHz, 0.1 V rms, 0 A; absolute tolerance to ±20%.
  • HM62-3015C — 1.5 mm high; 1.5 to 47.0 µH at 100 kHz, 0.1 V rms, 0 A; absolute tolerance to ±20% and ±30% (depending on inductance value).
  • HM62-3515 — 1.5 mm high; 2.2 to 220.0 µH at 100 kHz, 0.1 V rms, 0 A; absolute tolerance to ±20%.
