Metal-Film Resistors Welcome High Voltage Pulses

Oct. 20, 2010
The ASR/SPR Series metal film resistors handle pulse voltages from 1 kV for low resistance values in the 1/4W size up to 10 kV for higher resistance values in the mini 1/2W and 1W sizes.

The ASR/SPR Series metal film resistors handle pulse voltages from 1 kV for low resistance values in the 1/4W size up to 10 kV for higher resistance values in the mini 1/2W and 1W sizes. Also, the resistors can withstand thousands of pulses of this type even up to several seconds in duration without significant resistance shift. Both series are available in values ranging from 100Ω up to 20 MΩ, with the UL 1676 rated SPR representing the values from 1 MΩ to 12 MΩ. Depending on size and tolerance, price ranges from $0.04 to $0.10 each in full reel quantities. STACKPOLE ELECTRONICS INC., Raleigh, NC. (888) 734-7347.
