For fastening applications where there is minimal space for hardware to attach extremely thin steel sheets, Type SMPS stainless steel self-clinching nuts offer a lower profile than standard clinch nuts and can be mounted up to 50% closer to the edge of a sheet to save real estate. Type SMPS self-clinching nuts can be installed on sheets as thin as 0.025 in. and become a permanent part of the assembly. Nut material is 300 Series stainless steel in thread sizes from #2-56 through #6-32 and M2.5 through M3.5. Diameter is 0.220 in. with height of 0.065 in.
