A stainless-steel actuator with thermoplastic overmolding highlights APEM’s new AV Series of pushbutton switches. Actuator styles include illuminated ring or illuminated ring and disc models. Consequently, AV Series switches suit applications pertaining to security panels, public kiosks, vending machines, ATM machines, handicap access control panels, and heavy hydraulic lift equipment. The devices are rated to 50 mA maximum at 24 V dc resistive load. At full load, electrical life extends to 1 million cycles. Initial contact resistance measures 100 mΩ maximum; dielectric strength is 500 V rms minimum (50 Hz minimum between terminals and 2.000 V rms, 50 Hz minimum between terminals and bushing). Operating temperature ranges from −30° to +70°C. Solder lug and straight PC terminals options are available. Terminals are brass or gold plated, with gold-plated contacts and nickel-plated brass bushings.
