Wake Up Receiver Features Low Power And High Sensitivity

Oct. 21, 2010
Enabling remote wakeup in battery-powered systems, the AS3933 three-channel wake-up receiver exhibits a sensitivity of 80 microVrms and a current consumption of 2.7 microA.

Enabling remote wakeup in battery-powered systems, the AS3933 three-channel wake-up receiver exhibits a sensitivity of 80 µVrms and a current consumption of 2.7 μA. Receive frequency range spans 15 kHz to 150 kHz and the device provides a digital RSSI value for each active channel, supports a programmable data rate and Manchester decoding with clock recovery, and includes an internal clock generator, derived from either a crystal oscillator or the internal RC oscillator. Reportedly, it’s the first such device to provide a built-in automatic antenna tuner. The AS3933 operates with a 3V supply and over a -40ºC to +85ºC temperature range. Available in 16-pin TSSOP and 16-pin QFN packages, price is $2.60 each/1,000. AUSTRIAMICROSYSTEMS USA INC., Raleigh, NC. (919) 676-5292.
