ESD Simulator Exceeds Standard Discharge Settings

Aug. 1, 2002
Exceeding industry ESD test standards with pulse voltages greater than 25 kV, the NSG 438 ESD simulator system suits test applications involving multiple R-C network values. A basic system comes with an IEC/EN 61000-4-2-compliant 150 pF/330ohms

Exceeding industry ESD test standards with pulse voltages greater than 25 kV, the NSG 438 ESD simulator system suits test applications involving multiple R-C network values. A basic system comes with an IEC/EN 61000-4-2-compliant 150 pF/330ohms network. Modules are available for other standards including ISO 10650, ANSI, SAE, ISO, and MIL and the system is also ready for future ANSI and IEC standards. Generating pulses from 200V to 30 kV, parameter settings include polarity, pulse repetition, counter functions, and breakdown detection. A typical system consists of a base unit with voltage generator and microprocessor-based control unit, a pistol-shaped test head with touch display, probes, network modules, and several other accessories. Starting price is $11,000. For more details, call Mary Jane Salvador at SCHAFFNER EMC INC., Edison, NJ. (732) 225-9533, ext 239.
