Low-cost, highly integrated designs for high-speed Internet access is promised with the CopperGold Lite chipset, which enables modem manufacturers and PC OEMs to offer users an analog solution today and next-generation DSL connection when it becomes available from service providers. The MC143462 CopperGold Lite chipset consists of a DSL AFE, 24-bit DSP with integrated PCI 2.2-compliant interface, and the required software for V.90/G.Lite functionality. The DSP's ability to support multiple ITU standards enables a manufacturer to ship a universal modem that is designed to connect with a wide variety of ASDL configurations being deployed in different regions of the world. The chipset is packaged with comprehensive software support and a turnkey reference design with schematics, Gerber file, and BOM.
