Transient protection as well as EMI suppression are integrated in a single device, the GTF701-HS3-GS08 protection diode array and EMI filter. The device provides transient protection for two data lines, meeting Level 4 IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) specifications of 15 kV (air) and 8 kV (contact), as well as the IEC 61000-4-5 specification (lightning) of 5A. Insertion loss is specified at –4 dB from 1 to 10 MHz. The maximum reverse standoff voltage is 5V, and maximum clamping voltage is 15V (5A, 8/20 µs). Attenuation of high-frequency signals is rated at –10 dB between the range of 100 and 3,000 MHz. Built on thin-film-on-silicon technology, the device is housed in an LLP75-6A plastic package measuring 1.6 mm x 1.6mm x 0.7 mm high. Pricing starts at $20/100 pieces in 100,000 quantities.
