Combining the company's EZ-USB NX2LP-Flex USB controller with UPEK's TouchStrip fingerprint-authentication technology, the CY4665 biometric security reference design promises the strongest security and true portability to USB flash drive designers. The kit addresses the growing need for enterprise data to be portable and accessible offline while keeping data secure. It features hardware-based authentication while enabling complete mobility across devices and multiple operating systems. A dedicated UPEK security processor on the drive performs all fingerprint matching functions: template extraction, storage, and matching. Also part of the package, UPEK's Protector Suite Token application software eases access to data, applications, and websites. It includes a password bank for registering and accessing user login and password-protected websites and applications. The CY4665 reference design is free of charge and can be downloaded from the company's website. CYPRESS SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., San Jose, CA. (408) 943-2600.
