I2C Bus Analyzer Monitors And Logs Traffic In Real-Time

April 18, 2013
Robust debugging tool provides low level visibility and control of an I²C bus or SMBus product.

Blackhawk’s Scribe is a robust debugging tool providing low level visibility and control of an I²C bus or SMBus product. Suited for both entry-level and complex applications, the analyzer is ideal for embedded software and firmware development, hardware debug, in-system programming and system performance verification. Developers are able to monitor and log I²C bus traffic in real-time, with all decoded I²C protocol data being displayed in a comprehensible format. Hardware debugging features include exercising the I²C bus and communicating with its peripheral components. In-system programming capabilities facilitate programming and verification of I²C compatible EEPROM devices using a single-click interface to display and update memory contents. The analyzer offers Standard-mode, Fast-mode, and Fm+ using bit rates up to 5 Mbit/s, and High-speed mode monitoring up to 5 Mbit/s. Two general purpose I/O channels are available along with a High-speed USB 2.0 interface. For the first 90 days, the Blackhawk Scribe is available at an introductory price of $1,295. After that, the regular list price will be $1,600.
