Taking a significant leap forward from previous versions, the LabVIEW 8 graphical development platform adds distributed intelligence within a suite of capabilities that ease the design, distribution, and synchronization of intelligent devices and systems. The application also acquires a project-based environment for developing and managing large-scale applications, and contains the latest in Express technology for simplified instrument control. Additional upgrades appear in the real-time, FPGA, PDA and data-logging and supervisory-control modules. Briefly, the latest version presents a simplified, scalable interface for communicating with and synchronizing between remote intelligent devices and systems, such as real-time processors and FPGAs. Pricing starts from $995. NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, Austin, TX. (888) 280-7645.
