SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2005--QuickLogic Corporation (Nasdaq:QUIK - News), the pioneer of Embedded Standard Products (ESPs), has announced production shipments of lead-free packaging for many families of devices, including Eclipse II and QuickPCI II and QuickMIPS. These lead-free devices comply with the RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances) directives from the European Union and the Japan Ministry of Trade and Industry (MITI).

"Preserving our environment is a critical management concern for QuickLogic. We provide a broad range of safe lead-free packages that stand up to the highest environmental standards," said Brian Faith, QuickLogic's Senior Director of Product Marketing. "We support our customers as they move towards the removal of lead from their products."

QuickLogic's support of lead-free packaging is ahead of the European Union Directive date of July 2006. At this time, all of the popular, low-power Eclipse II and QuickPCI II products meet the requirements of the European RoHS directive. QuickLogic plans to offer lead-free solutions for the highly integrated QuickMIPS programmable SoC products, its high volume mature products, and for all future product families.
