In its second incarnation, the SBC622 6U OpenVPX-compliant single-board computer (SBC) enlists Intel’s Core i7 Processor, and promises higher levels of performance, flexibility, connectivity and compatibility. It targets network-centric warfare apps in which data driven architectures enable fighters to gain a more complete realization of the battlefield environment. Applications include early warning systems, command and control, and the aggregation, analysis, and dissemination of real time sensor data. Other features include up to 8 GB of soldered DDR3 SDRAM with ECC, a 10-Gigabit Ethernet I/O fabric subsystem, two PCI-X PMC/XMC mezzanine expansion sites, compliance with the OpenVPX standard, and five rugged air- and conduction-cooled build levels. Operating system support includes VxWorks, Windows, and Linux. GE FANUC INTELLIGENT PLATFORMS, Charlottesville, VA. (434) 978-5000.
