The company extends its 32-bit STM32L series microcontrollers (MCUs) to include devices with memory densities of 256 KB and 384 KB and a flash memory range from 32 KB to 384 KB. The STM32L devices are reportedly the industry’s first ultra-low-power ARM Cortex-M3 MCUs available and they offer 33 DMIPS performance at 32 MHz maximum. The series is now entering into volume manufacturing and the first devices, offering 64-KB and 128-KB memory densities, are expected to be available in production quantities by the end of March. STM32L series MCUs with 32-KB memories will follow in the second quarter. STMICROELECTRONICS, Lexington, MA. (888) 787-3550.
