A non-contact proximity alarm developed by Standex Electronics integrates audio and visual alerts—when a trigger element nears the base element, it illuminates an LED indicator light and sounds and audio warning. The technology is built around the company’s GR150 and GR200 magnetic reed switches, which senses the proximity without contact. The switches, which measure 3.7 mm in length, retain magnetic sensitivity of 2 to 4 ampere turns (AT), operating time of 0.2 ms (typical), and a release time of 0.1 ms (typical). Applications include industrial position sensing, door ajar indicators, and security applications.
