A new valve position sensor has been designed for use in hazardous areas found in many processing and manufacturing applications. The Vprox 773 sensor comes with a potted-in cable or quick disconnect for faster, more reliable installations. The device is a 2-wire ac/dc inductive proximity sensor with FM approval for use in Class 1, Division 2 hazardous location placement, and boasts a NEMA 4, 4X and 6 environmental rating. Its 316 stainless steel housing is well-suited for the harsh chemical environments often found in these types of applications. The Vprox 773 has dual power and switching LEDs for easy sensor-to-target adjustment without the use of a meter. Since the sensor uses inductive technology, it has no moving parts to wear, jam or break resulting in lower maintenance costs. Its 5/8" thread fits most industry standard valve brackets, and a programmable output suits both valve and damper applications. TURCK INC., Minneapolis, MN. (800) 544-7769.
