Additions to Power Integrations’ LinkSwitch family of ac-dc switched-mode power conversion ICs includes the LNK626PG, allegedly the market’s highest-power accurate constant voltage integrated switcher IC with primary-side control.

Additions to Power Integrations’ LinkSwitch family of ac-dc switched-mode power conversion ICs includes the LNK626PG, allegedly the market’s highest-power accurate constant voltage integrated switcher IC with primary-side control. The latest devices target applications requiring ±5% voltage accuracy such as ac-dc adapters up to 10 W, auxiliary power supplies for appliances up to 17 W, and multiple-output supplies for consumer products.

Notably, the devices exceed Energy Star 2.0 specifications for external power supplies by 10% across the entire load range and consume less than 70 mW of power in no-load mode. They combine a 700-V power MOSFET, on/off control state machine, self-biasing circuit, frequency jittering, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and hysteretic thermal shutdown circuitry.

Pricing for LinkSwitch-CV devices starts from $0.64 each for 10,000.
