1.6-kW Supplies Feed Redundant Systems

Dec. 21, 2010
Groomed for use in distributed, hot-pluggable and redundant power systems, the 1.16-kW HFE1600 series front-end power supplies with active PFC operate off a universal ac input from 85 to 265 Vac and provide dc outputs of 12V, 24V, or 48V.

Groomed for use in distributed, hot-pluggable and redundant power systems, the 1.16-kW HFE1600 series front-end power supplies with active PFC operate off a universal ac input from 85 to 265 Vac and provide dc outputs of 12V, 24V, or 48V.  Operating efficiencies up to 92% are typical. Housed in 19-inch rack-mount enclosures, as many as five supplies can be paralleled with automatic load-sharing to provide up to 7.6 kW of output power. An optional MCU allows for remote programming, monitoring, and status reporting via an isolated I2C and PMBus interface. Additionally, the HFE1600 supplies measure 1.61” x 3.35” x 11.8”, employ two variable-speed cooling fans, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -10°C to 7+0°C. Pricing starts at $515 each/500.
