With a transient-response time of 300 A/µs, the Typhoon SMT15F point-of-load (POL) converter modules assume position as the industry's fastest. Claimed as unique, the modules are completely self-contained, offered as drop-in power components that require no additional components. Four models provide nominal output voltages of 1, 1.2, 1.5, and 1.8V that can be trimmed by ±10% of nominal, and each converter delivers up to 15A of output current with input voltages from 10.8V to 13.2V. Step voltages range from 13V down 1V. Other shared features include a synchronous buck regulator topology, switching frequency of 1 MHz, and an industry-standard footprint measuring 33 mm x 13.5 mm and an installed height of 7.6 mm.
