Unveiled as the company's first power management unit (PMU), the BCM59001 reportedly provides a richer feature set, smaller footprint, longer battery life, and lower system cost while requiring fewer external components than comparable devices. It comes with a complete set of software and device drivers that provides programmability for all 13 of the device’s linear and switching regulator output voltages. Integrating all key portable power components, including wall adapters, USB chargers, and fuel gauges, the PMU specifies a dc/dc efficiency of 84% at 1 mA. Other features include 11 integrated LDOs, a PSRR greater than 70 db at 10 kHz, and a dropout voltage of less than 50 mV. In a 6 mm x 6 mm QFP, price for the BCM59001 is $2.49 each/100,000.
