The ADP3605 is a voltage inverter that operates from a 3V to 6V supply to provide a regulated output with minimum voltage loss. It does so while minimizing the need for external components and eliminating the need for an inductor. Housed in SO-8 and TSSOP-14 packages, the device operates at a very high switching frequency of 250 kHz (500 kHz internal), which enables the charge pump to use very small external filter capacitors. The inductor-less design allows engineers to implement the “thin” design sought in a wide range of battery powered and portable applications. The inverter comes in fixed -3V and adjustable (-3 to -6V) versions.
