The new MIC3975 is a low dropout regulator with 750 mA drive capability packed into a MSOP-8 package. Designed for 2.5V-to-1.8V or 1.65V conversion, the device features a dropout voltage of just 300 mV at its full load of 750 mA. In addition, the companyÕs mCap design enables the chip to support smaller, more reliable and more readily available ceramic output capacitors. Main applications for the MIC3975 LDO include powering 1.65V or 1.8V digital ICs from a 2.5V±10% system bus or 2.5V digital ICs from a 3.3V±10% system bus. Pricing for the MIC3975 starts at $1.40 each/1,000. MICREL SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (408) 944-0800.
