Schottky Diodes Serve ORing Applications

April 1, 1999
The 40L15CW series of Schottky diodes is optimized for ORing applications in high-reliability power supplies. The devices offer a 150°C maximum junction temperature, enabling designers to use smaller heat sinks to save space and overall costs.

The 40L15CW series of Schottky diodes is optimized for ORing applications in high-reliability power supplies. The devices offer a 150°C maximum junction temperature, enabling designers to use smaller heat sinks to save space and overall costs. Operating at higher junction temperatures also allows a further reduction in forward voltage drop for even greater efficiency. The common-cathode arrangement in these diodes makes them suitable for use in systems with power levels of 20A when used in the common-cathode mode or 40A when the internal diodes are paralleled.
