Elastomeric Connectors Pack Up To 500 Contacts Per Inch

Aug. 1, 2001

Design for use in a wide variety of applications, the carbon ZEBRA elastomeric connectors consist of alternating layers of conductive, carbon-filled silicone rubber and non-conductive silicone rubber. The zero-insertion-force, low-compression-force, redundant-contact-engagement elastomeric connectors have contact pitches of 140, 240 or 500 per inch. They have a current capacity of 50 mA and a typical continuity resistance of 1 k½. Base connectors operate over a -50¡C to 125¡C temperature range and a low-temperature connector is available that operates down to -65¡C. The connectors can be free standing or positioned in a retainer depending on packaging profiles. Pricing starts at less than $0.01 per contact. FUJIPOLY AMERICA CORP., Kenilworth, NJ.
