Linear Motion Guides Employ Caged Ball Technology

Oct. 1, 1998

Using caged ball technology to reduce operating noise, dramatically decrease maintenance, and prolong life, type SNR LM (linear motion) guides are well-suited for machine tool applications. The SNR can increase rigidity under heavy loads because during heavy machining, increased friction from the differential slip between balls and the raceways improve the SNR's damping characteristics. In addition, because the guide's radius of curvature of the raceways and the balls are similar, contact area is increased when ultra-heavy load are handled.
