The School of Engineering and Computer Science of Baylor University offers an outstanding undergraduate program with rigorous courses of study in mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and general engineering with concentrations in environmental, geo-petro, biomedical, and humanitarian engineering.

Teal Residential College is a Christ-centered fellowship that fosters the pursuit of wisdom, academic excellence, and meaningful relationships for the development of diverse, innovative leaders.

Highlights

The "Ladies and Legos" program is a fun and casual way to bring together women at different stages of their academic and professional careers to talk about their experiences in the classroom and workplace. Many women in STEM fields do not have an arena to discuss the unique challenges women face in male-dominated industries. The "Ladies and Lego" program is an opportunity to create dialogue that encourages gender diversity in the workforce and empowers women to succeed.

Baylor Missions Around the World: Students Volunteer for Trips to Europe, Africa, Central America

The Baylor chapter of Engineers with a Mission returned from Ferrier, Haiti, where they installed solar panels into the community's training center operated by Mission Waco. Eight students and two Baylor professors also repaired wells, painted a house, worshipped at local churches and played with the town's children. Read More

In and Outside of the Classroom

Students work together in teams on projects often. Team building and collaboration with students is a key area of focus. This helps prepare future engineers for the real world challenges that are ahead.

Engineering students take on a new challege in Baja SAE competition

Programs

The School of Engineering and Computer Science of Baylor University offers an outstanding undergraduate program with rigorous courses of study in mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and general engineering with concentrations in environmental, geo-petro, biomedical, and humanitarian engineering. With state of the art research facilities, renowned faculty, and an innovative approach to undergraduate life and leadership development, Baylor engineering programs offer all of the advantages of a large-scale research institution with the personal attention students need to succeed. Students also have the opportunity to participate in a number of professional societies such as IEEE, ASME, and a host of others.

In addition to on-campus classrooms and labs, students and faculty have access to the 300,000 square foot Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative that fosters and encourages interdisciplinary research by combining faculty laboratories, research testing facilities, offices, and workspace for researchers that span a full range of scientific and technological fields. Engineering students at Baylor also have a unique opportunity to participate in one of Baylor’s living-learning programs at Teal Residential College where engineering students foster community with like-minded students and engineering faculty by seamlessly blending in- and out-of-classroom experiences.

Paired with our low student-to-faculty ratio and opportunities for hands-on projects and research, Baylor’s focus on leadership development and community involvement make our graduates some of the most sought after young professionals in their fields. Student-led initiatives that combine engineering and service on local and international projects and mobilize engineers for discipline-specific service in developing communities around the globe provide our students with real-world training that companies like General Electric, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Shell, Halliburton, AT&T and many more recognize and look for in new hires.

Located in the heart of Texas, the Baylor School of Engineering and Computer Science is uniquely positioned along the 1-35 corridor with direct access to Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. The wide range of undergraduate and graduate degree options at Baylor offers students flexible degree plans, extracurricular and research opportunities, and leadership roles that propel an innovative and transformative engineering career.
