The MTS4EA Video Elementary Stream (ES) Analyzer now supports the VC-1 advanced compression video codec, the proposed Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) standard derived from Windows Media Video 9. The analyzer is a software product that offers a flexible, upgradeable test solution for current and next-generation video compression technologies. The VC-1 support joins existing support for MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264/AVC, H.261, H.263, H.263+, and 3GPP standards. The MTS4EA will enable developers and manufacturers designing and testing consumer products like set-top boxes and high-definition DVD to ensure that their projects conform to these standards. The MTS4EA is available both as an option for the MTS400 MPEG test system, which starts at under $30,000, and as a standalone application for installation on a user's PC, starting at under $9000.
