Industrial Controller Takes On Tough Applications
Analog and digital control, serial communication, math processing, networking and distributed I/O processing are all combined in one easy-to-implement environment in the SNAP-LCM4 real-time industrial automation controller. The unit features: a 32-bit Motorola 68030 processor; a floating-point math co-processor with an extensive math command set; 4 Mbytes of battery-backed RAM and 2 Mbytes of flash for program storage; four high-speed serial ports; four M4 expansion slots for 10/100-Mbps Ethernet, 2.5-Mbps ARCNET and Fiber ARCNET communication; and tight coupling with the company's SNAP I/O line of intelligent, distributed industrial I/O products. The unit is also tightly integrated with the firm's FactoryFloor software suite. Other features of the controller include flexible mounting options, a single 5V power requirement, and simple access to all configurable options, diagnostic indicators and field connections.
