Programmable 2.5V Skew PLLs Span Wide Frequency Range

April 1, 2001

Representing an extension of an existing family of clock management ICs for enterprise, wireless and access infrastructure markets, the TurboClock II series of programmable skew phase-locked loops (PLLs) span a 6- to 200-MHz frequency range and include devices that can operate at voltages as low as 2.5V, as well as at 3.3V.
The 2.5V TurboClock II devices can deliver a total of eight programmable skew outputs, reportedly reducing board space requirements while ensuring that jitter and skew specs are not compromised. The series enables designers to fine tune clock skew between inputs and outputs and to generate multiply and divide functions of 1/2, 1/4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12. The new PLLs come in 32- and 44-pin TQFPs and have a starting price of $9.50 each/10K.
